Cypress Hill's Smokeout 2 day Festival

Posted by http://guerillaunion.com [ webmaster ] On Tuesday September 29, @08:56AM
1998 marked a decade in the careers of the pioneering rap-rock quartet CYPRESS HILL. In celebration, CYPRESS HILL released their 4th album appropriately titled IV, and hosted a record release party that broke down the CYPRESS HILL way of life for all their fans to see, experience, and make their own. This event was the SMOKE OUT.

CYPRESS HILL, in conjunction with INSIDER MAGAZINE, would turn the SMOKE OUT into the ultimate music fusion festival featuring the hard core, underground, and in your face experience that mainstream concert promoters just could not provide. The SMOKE OUT brought together leaders in rap-rock, hip hop, alternative, rock, metal, punk, dance, and reggae on dual stages along with a vendor village, indoor club / lounge featuring World Class DJ’s, DJ battles, movie premieres, and backstage V.I.P. parties where fans didn’t just sit and watch their favorite artists party, fans partied like rock stars with them.

This event would solidify CYPRESS HILL’s place as Southern California hip hop legends as well as catapult INSIDER MAGAZINE’s growth into GUERILLA UNION due to the high demand for more events that captured the unique SMOKE OUT experience. The SMOKE OUT stands as a celebration of self expression, individuality, and the freedom to choose your own way of life. Artists that have supported this movement range from Jurassic 5 and the Long Beach Dub All Stars in 1998, System of a Down and Dead Prez in 2000, the Deftones and Busta Rhymes in 2001, Mudvayne and Snoop Dogg in 2002, Linkin Park and DMX in 2003 just to name a few.
With their music, CYPRESS HILL, has broken down the musical and cultural barriers between hip-hop, alternative, metal, rock, reggae, ska, and latin music. The SMOKE OUT encompasses what CYPRESS HILL represents and allows concert go-ers to bask in their world. Definitely not your traditional record release party, the SMOKE OUT truly is an all day mind opening festival.
